ACNE STUDIOS SALES EVENT
Fall / winter collection 2019
Introduction
We all remember the playing cards from our childhood: Pokémon, Yuh-Gi-Oh!, Magic The Gathering, you name it! For this project I wanted to capture this atmosphere of playfulness and fantasy in order to make the last season of Acne Studios clothing more accessible and inclusive. For me this collection has a younger aesthetic than their collections of the past and makes a lot of references to childhood imagery. I found it interesting to attract a younger demographic while playing with the nostalgic aspect of playing cards from our childhood.
The playing cards would be regular physical playing cards that could be found in online order packages and in physical purchases. Each playing cards would have a unique QR code on their back, allowing access to a discount on the online store. Discounts could go up to 60% for each card if you’re lucky. You can only collect one of each card (of a total of 10 cards).
I created 10 cards with different atmospheres as if each card is its own fantastic character. I also wanted each card to be different so that they could be easy to recognizable from one another, therefore easy to collect.
I then designed a sales event site, which would be an automatic pop-up window when you enter the main Acne Studios store.
The event website
This section of the online store would be an automatic pop-up window when you enter the main Acne Studios store. It would also be accessible through the regular store menu. I wanted to keep it simple, as the Acne Studio store already is. I also wanted the window to take up the entirety of the website’s body as if you’re having a separate experience, like entering a video game.
The user experience is separated into three sections:
► The event anouncement page.
► A very short explanation of the sale event.
► Portfolio of the cards you have collected.
You would be encouraged to drop an image of the QR code of the cards that you have collected into the portfolio page to see what the card discount is. The discount would then be stored to be activated in the future.
